Laboratory Testing
Dulles Engineering (DE) operates a soil and concrete materials testing laboratory. Our laboratory is accredited by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) accreditation program, inspected by Cement and Concrete Reference Laboratory (CCRL) and validated by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Material Testing Center.
Our Accreditation conforms to the requirements of ASTM D3740 (Soil), ASTM E329 (Concrete, Soil), AASHTO R-18 and ASTM C-1077 (Concrete). To maintain our accreditation with AASHTO accreditation program, a highly defined Quality Management System (QMS) is in place for company organization, training, equipment calibration, technician certifications, reporting detail, and accuracy of test results. We participate in AASHTO re:source sample proficiency test programs for soil and concrete. Under the supervision of Professional Engineers, the Laboratory Manager oversees a team of technicians certified by ACI (American Concrete Institute), VDOT (Virginia Department of Transportation), and WACEL (Washington Area Council of Engineering Laboratories). All procedures are conducted in accordance with the QA/QC Laboratory Manual, which is approved by the relevant accreditation agencies.
